Popular Hair Cut Styles
Hair styles of the 1930s are a much sought after fashion trend as vintage styles become more in vogue in 2011. Old-school clothes have to be complemented by appropriate hair-dos and fashionistas are learning that in the 1930s, hair was the ultimate accessory. Feminine and conservative, these styles are also functional as evening wear accessories.
Finger Waves
Finger waves were quite possibly the most popular hair style of the 1930s. To achieve this style, wash, rinse and towel dry your hair first. Comb the hair straight out. While the hair is still damp, saturate it with setting lotion. Part it either in the middle or on the side. Comb the hair down to lay flat against the scalp. Hold the hair flat in place with your least dominant hand while you drag hair near the part upward with the comb in your dominant hand. Pinch the hair in front of the comb between two fingers until a ridge develops. Release the comb and repeat until your head is covered with waves. Dry your waves under a dryer.
